Pacific Power’s E-Mobility Grant Fuels Summer Fun and Program Growth

Thanks to Pacific Power’s E-Mobility Grant, this summer has been filled with exciting adventures for the youth we serve! Our new electric van, funded through the grant, has expanded our reach across Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook Counties, while also becoming the vehicle for some truly unforgettable experiences. From trips to local lakes and sports games to summer camps and even a fun staff outing, the van has transformed the way we connect with our kids. No matter where they live, all of our youth have been able to join in on the fun and build lasting memories. It’s been a game-changer for creating meaningful group experiences.

With our programs growing and youth living in every corner of Central Oregon, transportation is always a challenge. But this van has made it so much easier to get kids where they need to be, whether it's for academic tutoring, mental health counseling, or community engagement activities. More kids now have the chance to thrive under the guidance of their dedicated mentors, known as Friends, who are there for them from kindergarten all the way through high school graduation. The van has been key in helping us reach children in even the most rural areas, ensuring no one is left out.

Beyond helping us serve more kids, the van is part of our commitment to sustainability. It’s not just about saving on fuel—it’s about reducing our environmental footprint and making our operations more eco-friendly. The savings we gain from lower fuel costs go right back into our programs, allowing us to provide even more resources for educational enrichment, workforce development, and mental health services—all critical to the well-being and growth of the youth we serve.

Their commitment to sustainability and the community has made a real difference, helping us grow and improve the lives of children across Central Oregon.
