"BEND, Ore. -- Three Central Oregon nonprofits are receiving a massive funding boost all thanks to used bottles and cans.

The BottleDrop Fund gave out more than $250,000 to 13 nonprofits across the state. Locally, The Heart of Oregon Corps (HOC), Friends of the Children, and Upper Deschutes Watershed Council received donations.

“The funding is really great because it puts value into young people, the work that they're doing and ultimately being seen out in the community,” HOC Conservation Programs Director Patrick Orr said.
