Lauren grew up in Michigan before moving to Central Oregon in January 2025. She received her Bachelor's in Spanish and English from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), and spent every summer between semesters as a camp counselor, which she considers the beginning of her passion for serving and advocating for youth. After graduating, Lauren spent some time working in the foster care system, as well as in the classroom working with native and non-native Spanish speakers. She then moved to Oregon and discovered Friends of the Children, and was so excited to find out that a program existed to do such vital work in our community that also combines many of her professional interests. Lauren is honored to have the opportunity to serve youth and families through Friends of the Children! When Lauren is not working, you can find her spending time with her husband Ian, rock climbing, trail running, or playing music with friends.
