Ian brings a background in youth recreation, SEL development and trauma-informed care. He is passionate about helping children develop resilience and meaningful connections so they can grow and thrive. He previously directed youth & family programs for a local athletic club, volunteered with two different youth mentoring organizations, and supported inner-city students in K-5 classrooms in Las Vegas.
Ian has earned an AS in Psychology, completed additional coursework in Human & Family Development, and is currently working on attaining his QMHA certification. He and his wife are raising two young children and a very happy (very energetic) golden retriever named Ruffles. Raising kids of his own has helped him fully appreciate the virtues of patience, encouragement, and adaptability.
Outside of work, Ian enjoys exploring everything Central Oregon has to offer, from hiking, biking, paddle boarding and snowboarding to local concerts and festivals. He and his family also enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultures across the globe. He is excited to be part of an organization that invests in the long-term success of children and looks forward to helping them recognize their potential.
