Rutila is the Executive Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for the High Desert Education Service District. She is a lifelong advocate for children, families, and communities historically underserved by educational systems. Her lived experience continues to shape her commitment to equity, access, and belonging. Since moving to Central Oregon in 2005, she has served in several community-centered leadership roles, including leading OSU’s Juntos program across the Central Oregon region, and serving as Executive Director of Better Together Central Oregon. Entering her 24th year in education, she is known for her relationship-driven leadership and deep commitment to advancing opportunity for priority populations, and she is respected for building strong partnerships across schools, communities, and systems.
