Megan Burgess is the owner of Peterkin Burgess, Attorneys at Law, a Central Oregon law firm specializing in construction and real estate litigation. Megan is a lifelong Oregonian and has been living and volunteering in Central Oregon for 17 years. Megan has served on the Board of Directors of Bethlehem Inn, Central Oregon’s only homeless shelter serving men, women and families and served as its Board President from 2021-2023.
Megan most recently served as President of the Deschutes County Bar Association and currently chairs its diversity, equity and inclusion committee. Megan also sat on the statewide Board of Directors for Oregon Women Lawyers for many years.
Megan has always had a passion for volunteering in the community with organizations making a direct impact. “Like Bethlehem Inn, I have been impressed with the lasting commitment that Friends of the Children makes to the youth it serves. It is that level of dedication to effecting systemic change in a person’s life that inspired me to get more involved.”
