Chelsea is a former PR and Marketing professional with a speciality in museum and non profit promotion and a background in city government. Chelsea has a B.A. in Urban Studies and worked in different capacities for three cities (NYC, Portland, Or), and lastly, as assistant communications director for the Mayor of New Haven, CT. Having had a taste of the west, she switched coasts and went on to a position as Director of PR and Marketing for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art during its pivotal opening of a new building. There she oversaw media relations, helped establish a community friendly experience for Museum visitors and partnered with the Museum’s philanthropists and dynamic Board of Directors. A resident of Central Oregon since 2023, Chelsea has offered PR support to numerous non profits while raising her twins. She and her entrepreneurial husband Preston are deeply engaged in the wellbeing of their community. Chelsea has been a lifelong supporter of underserved youth, starting as a Head Start tutor in adolescence. In NYC she became an advocate for the homeless, went on to support New Haven Youth at Risk, created a children’s program at Glide Memorial Church in SFO’s Tenderloin and volunteered at the Futures Center at Bend High. Supporting the awareness building and fundraising needs of Friends of the Children is a natural extension of her deep passion for humanity and professional expertise.
