Friends of the Children Receives $6,000 Grant

Friends of the Children–Central Oregon recently received a $6,000 grant award from Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation.

CCUIF awarded a total of $556,850 to 83 nonprofit organizations located in Coos, Deschutes, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath and Lane counties.

Director of Development and Marketing Penny Pritchard said, “We are so grateful to be a first-time recipient of this grant award from the CCUIF. All $6,000 will go towards summer activities for children in our program who otherwise would not get to experience such opportunities."

"Scheduled activities will focus on intentional opportunities planned around outdoor education, eating healthy, and other areas like reading with their mentors. In addition, our program director is working in partnership with volunteers and staff to host Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics camps, also known as STEM.”
